I have been fortunate to collaborate and record with so many artists, on drums as well as percussion. Below are samples of my playing on recordings over the years.
Samples
Catch the 8-15 - Hal Hirsch is a stylistically diverse guitarist and composer that I work with. For this original composition, I tracked the drums and also did the mixing and mastering.
Plastic Cup - Marry the Sea is a wonderful original band I’ve been in since 2017. We have one record available on most streaming platforms, please check us out!
Rude - Thursday Habit is an “alternative prog” original band co-founded by Marc Stern and me over 15 years ago. We have one record available on most streaming platforms, with a second EP that will hopefully follow and one day see digital daylight. This track showcases one of the most unique rhythm sections I’ve been a part of with my brother Howard Finkel on bass.
Room Nine - The Beeps was a groovy “lounge rock” original band that put out two full records in the early 2000s. The drums for our “9” record were recorded in my living room and engineered by Steve Ward. This song has a really interesting back-and-forth feel to it that is a hallmark of composer Pablo Martin.
If I Said So - Karen Novy is a super-talented songwriter, singer, and piano player. This cut is from her 1st album, which I co-produced with her. I played all drums and percussion on this album. This song is the only recorded song where I play tablas! It was a while back when I was actively studying the instrument.
Autumn Moon - Marina Meyler is a singer/songwriter and mandolin player from Dublin. I played all drums and percussion on her album which is available on most streaming platforms.
Ways To Break You - FELT was a band in the early 2000s. I was their percussionist and sometimes drummer. We released one album. I am on drums for this track and on percussion for the rest of the album. For this track, I recorded the drums in my studio.
Wonderland - The Beeps was a groovy “lounge rock” original band. We put out two full records in the early 2000s. This song opens our first record and on this record, I play all percussion, not drums. This track features my bongos, one of my favorite percussion instruments to play.
Next Moment Love - Wendy Beckerman is a gifted singer, songwriter, and guitarist. She has many records out. She reached out to me to record bongos on this song. The funnest part was our rehearsal in the South Mountain Reservation!
Sylvania Avenue - Rick Krueger has several albums out. This track is from his first recording on which I did all drums and percussion.
